Boys Varsity SoccerThe night of September 14 at Lansing Catholic High School was very special for the boys soccer team and their families, as they celebrated their senior night against Ionia. This senior class has grown over the four years they have played as they have won three league championships and a district championship during their time here at Lansing Catholic. “I remember sophomore year all my friends having their senior night and it didn’t really hit me until I realized it was my turn,” said senior Wes Franco. But for many members of the team, true success comes later in the season at the match against Williamston. “Our goal is to beat Willy and kind of get revenge on them for beating us the past couple of years, and winning a district title,” Franco said. As the season goes along the seniors and their families will forever cherish the memories that were created by playing boys var

Boys Varsity FootballTo start off the month of October the Lansing Catholic Boys Football team defeated their rivals, the Portland Raiders. The game was neck and neck in the fourth quarter and came down to a last-second field goal by senior Jonah Richards. “It wasn't as hard of a kick as people may believe from what they saw,” The star kicker Jonah Richards said. To him “It wasn't that [he] was worried about making the kick, but more about doing it under the stress of the game.” Quarterback Joey Baker had 345 passing yards, and a rushing touchdown helping to lead the cougars to victory. “The field goal was by far the best play of the game,” Baker said, even considering his contributions. The play stood out to Joey because “All of us, especially Jonah, were under a lot of pressure and it went to show that we can win during big games.” “I didn't get to see the whole kick so I had no idea if it went in or not but it felt good
